The presentation is an attempt to highlight issues associated around the public nature of internet and its relationship with space in Indian cities. The form and imagination of city and its spaces are very much influenced by the nature of the internet technology itself. The issue of "place" and its representation on the internet is very much a result of the dominant culture of the city and will need to be accounted for in future discourses on city development and communities. The presentation will highlight the challenges and possibilities for people/ institutions developing and promoting cultural content on the internet in context of advocacy, public space and development in Asian Cities.
