Jyh-An Lee (李治安) is an Assistant Professor of Law at National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan, where he teaches Copyright, Patent, International Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law, and Internet Law. He holds a J.S.D. from Stanford Law School and an LL.M from Harvard Law School. During his study at Stanford, he worked with Professor Lawrence Lessig and was appointed as the John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics. Lee’s current research focuses on the interaction between law, human behavior, and digital technology.

數位典藏與數位學習國家型科技計畫自1998年以來歷經三項重點計畫的變遷,如今已累計數百萬筆來自於不同典藏單位的多媒體素材,使得龐大的資訊處理、檢索與備份保存等工作成為重要的課題。為了對計畫產出之珍貴數位資料,提供最佳化的檢索、呈現與保存,提出以下四點策略:一、規範典藏品的標準後設資料(Metadata)並藉以建置聯合目錄系統,將數百萬筆資源統整在單一平台上,使資料檢索更容易;二、研究開發知識化工程,設計超連結自動標記工具,讓分散的數位資料形成單一的知識體系;三、建立分流分眾成果入口網,針對不同的使用族群,分別提供適合的內容;四、建立異地備份機制,以維護龐大數位內容的保存安全。

Keh-Jiann Chen obtained a B.S. in mathematics from National Cheng Kung University in 1972. He received a Ph.D. in computer science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1981. Since then he joined the Institute of Information Science as an associate research fellow and became a research fellow in 1989. He was the deputy director of the institute from August 1991 to July 1994.

Linked Data is a promising way to publish data on the web. Linked Data is to publish data with RDF including links to other sites openly. It is “web of data” which enables computers to process the contents, while the traditional Web with HTML is “web of documents” which is just for human. LOD (Linking Open Data) cloud which is the while network of Linked Data is growing day by day and contains more than billion triples. Open and sharable nature of Linked Data is suitable for data publishing on culture.

Virach Sornlertlamvanich received the D.Eng. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1998. He worked with NEC Corporation as a sub-project leader for Thai language processing in the Multi-lingual Machine Translation Project. He later founded the Linguistics and Knowledge Science Laboratory (LINKS) to conduct the research on Natural Language Processing (NLP) in the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) of Thailand in 1992.
